Computer Glasses

Computer glasses differ from normal
glasses or reading glasses in a number of ways as
they are designed to optimise your viewing experience based on the
average distance that a computer (VDU) screen is from your eyes.
During your eye
test at Leightons Opticians, your optometrist
will discuss issues such as computer work to establish the right
vision correction if required.
Long spells of VDU work can lead to eye strain, blurred vision
or other eyesight related problems and discomfort. Also, by giving
your eyes more demanding tasks on computer screens, it might make
you aware of an eyesight problems that you had not noticed before;
at this point we would recommend you book an eye test and have one of our
qualified opticians take a look at your eyes to
see if you need computer glasses- remember, if you
use a computer screen at work then your employer must provide you
with an eye test
at regular intervals and prove necessary corrective eyewear if
required.
You and your employer can help your eyes by ensuring your VDU is
well positioned and properly adjusted, and that the workplace
lighting is suitable. Ask for an eye test if you think there is a problem with
your eyesight.
If you require glasses specifically for
computer use then Leightons has the perfect frame and lens
combination. Whether you are looking for a value frame or a
designer brand that fits perfectly with your style, we have a
selection that will ensure you get the perfect pair of
computer glasses.
